本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛I felt host's article is partly right, partly too extreme. The development of China in recent years even in inland cities are amazingly fast.
The good things:
1. China has better future, I don't think anyone can deny the strong will of Chinese people to upgrade their living standard and hard work to become rich.
2. The governments are concentrating on economic development though ignoring the distribution of welfare. But it's different from the governments here which are limited by the interests of different voters.
3. As a Chinese, we feel much better culturally and no need to fit into the always strange mainstream of the society.
4. The purchasing power in China if you make similiar income here will be much better and you feel you belong to upper level of the society, don't deny it, here even you have very high income, you can't have that feeling.
The bad things:
1. Is China's current rapid development sustainable??!!, I witnessed the environmental problems are getting serious, these worried everybody who really care about the real quality of life.
2. The whole society's atmosphere of vanity and hypercrisy. The waste of resource is severe, Can China go the same way as the West of maintaining a high comsuption society while China's traditional recycled economy are given up easily?? I felt Many people in China live among the garbage which can hardly find a right place to deal with.
3. The quality of people, for instance, When I came back from Beijing, I felt relaxed for I need not to be always aware of being cheated or shouted by other people. Even I am a customer in China, I don't feel respected and it seems people don't respect each other.更多精彩文章及讨论,请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net
