The price of telling a lie-a real stroy

本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛Today we had a bussiness meeting with a couple guys from the States. They drove across the border. One of the gentleman told us a story he experienced this morning. While he was waiting in the line at the border, a young man ahead him met a big trouble just because he lied. When the officer asked him what is the purpose of this trip to Canada, he said it was for pleasure. But the officer found some thing that was clearly just for business. So the young guy had to admit that he was on bussiness travel and had lied. Then the officer asked him why he was lieing. The guy said that his supervisor had suggested him to do so in order to avoid junk questions. The officer apparantly felt offended and called two more helpers in. They pulled the young guy aside and keep questioning him. Our guest saw all of that and asked the officer what could happen to the poor guy, the officer told him that at least his passport would bear a stamp that shows his behaviour. The worse thing is that the CEO of the company must write an appology letter to the customs, otherwise the guy would not be allowed to enter Canada. Finally the officer said that the worst case would be he would face detaining.更多精彩文章及讨论,请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net

    • This is a good lesson for those who lie naturally.
      • We all think Amerian or Canadians are silly because they don't make harmless lies. Now we know how much you pay for the "innocent" lies.
      • Telling lies is only part of things.
