62.(17)Motor assisted bicycles, bicycles and tricycles, lights on, etc.
62.(17) When on a highway at any time from one-half hour before sunset to one-half hour after sunrise and at anyother time when, due to insufficient light or unfavourable atmospheric conditions, persons and vehicles on thehighway are not clearly discernible at a distance of 150 metres or less, every motor assisted bicycle, bicycleor tricycle shall carry on the front thereof a lighted lamp displaying a white or amber light and on the rear thereof alighted lamp displaying a red light or a reflector approved by the Ministry, and in addition there shall be placed onthe front forks thereof white reflective material, and on the rear thereof red reflective material covering a surface ofnot less than 250 millimetres in length and 25 millimetres in width.
62.(18)Penalty
62.(18) Every person who contravenes subsection (17) is guilty of an offence and on conviction is liable to a fineof not more than $20.
62.(26)Lamps on all vehicles, except motor vehicles, etc.
62.(26) Subject to subsection (28), every vehicle, other than a motor vehicle, motor assisted bicycle, bicycle, tricycle or a vehicle referred to in subsection (24), (25) or (27), when on a highway at any time from one-halfhour before sunset to one-half hour after sunrise and at any other time when, due to insufficient light orunfavourable atmospheric conditions, persons and vehicles on the highway are not clearly discernible at a distanceof 150 metres or less, shall carry in a conspicuous position on the left side thereof a lighted lamp which shalldisplay a white light to the front and a red light to the rear or a lighted lamp which shall display a white light to thefront and a lighted lamp which shall display a red light to the rear, and any lamp so used shall be clearly visible at adistance of at least 150 metres from the front and the rear of the vehicle, as the case may be.
64.(3)Brakes on bicycle
64.(3) No person shall ride a bicycle on a highway unless it is equipped with at least one brake system actingon the rear wheel that will enable the rider to make the braked wheel skid on dry, level and clean pavement.
64.(4)Meaning of bicycle
64.(4) In subsection (3),
"bicycle" has its ordinary meaning and does not include a unicycle or tricycle.
104.(2.1)Bicyclists to wear helmet
104.(2.1) No person shall ride on or operate a bicycle on a highway unless the person is wearing a bicyclehelmet that complies with the regulations and the chin strap of the helmet is securely fastened under the chin.
104.(2.2)Duty of parent or guardian
104.(2.2) No parent or guardian of a person under sixteen years of age shall authorize or knowingly permit that personto ride on or operate a bicycle on a highway unless the person is wearing a bicycle helmet as required bysubsection (2.1).
140.(6)Riding in pedestrian crossover prohibited
140.(6) No person shall ride a bicycle across a roadway within a pedestrian crossover. R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8,s. 140.
142.(4)How to signal manually
142.(4) When the signal is given by means of the hand and arm, the driver or operator shall indicate his or her intentionto turn,
(a)to the left, by extending the hand and arm horizontally and beyond the left side of the vehicle; or
(b)to the right, by extending the hand and arm upward and beyond the left side of the vehicle.

142.(5) Despite clause (4) (b), a person on a bicycle may indicate the intention to turn to the right by extending theright hand and arm horizontally and beyond the right side of the bicycle.
144.(29)Riding in crosswalks prohibited
144.(29) No person shall ride a bicycle across a roadway within or along a crosswalk at an intersection or at alocation other than an intersection which location is controlled by a traffic control signal system.
148.(4)Vehicles meeting bicycles
148.(4) Every person in charge of a vehicle on a highway meeting a person travelling on a bicycle shall allow thecyclist sufficient room on the roadway to pass.
148.(6)Bicycles overtaken
148.(6) Every person on a bicycle or motor assisted bicycle who is overtaken by a vehicle or equestriantravelling at a greater speed shall turn out to the right and allow the vehicle or equestrian to pass and the vehicle orequestrian overtaking shall turn out to the left so far as may be necessary to avoid a collision.
160. Towing of persons on bicycles, toboggans, etc., prohibited
160. No driver of a vehicle or street car shall permit any person riding upon a bicycle, coaster, roller skates, skis,toboggan, sled or toy vehicle to attach the same, himself or herself to the vehicle or street car. R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8,s. 160.166.(1) Requirement when approaching standing street car
166. 166.(1) Where a person in charge of a vehicle or on a bicycle or on horseback or leading a horse on a highwayovertakes a street car or a car of an electric railway, operated in or near the centre of the roadway, which is stationaryfor the purpose of taking on or discharging passengers, he or she shall not pass the car or approach nearer than 2metres measured back from the rear or front entrance or exit, as the case may be, of the car on the side on whichpassengers are getting on or off until the passengers have got on or got safely to the side of the street, as the case maybe, but this subsection does not apply where a safety zone has been set aside and designated by a by-law passed underparagraph 130 of section 210 of the Municipal Act.
166.(2)Prohibition as to passing street cars on left-hand side
166.(2) No person in charge of a vehicle or on a bicycle or on horseback or leading a horse, overtaking a street caror the car of an electric railway, operated in or near the centre of the roadway, which is stationary or in motion, shallpass on the left side of the car, having reference to the direction in which the car is travelling, but this subsection doesnot apply to a vehicle belonging to a municipal fire department while proceeding to a fire or answering a fire alarm callor where the street car or car of an electric railway is being operated on a highway designated for the use of one-waytraffic. 178.(2)Person on bicycle
178.(2) No person riding on a bicycle designed for carrying one person only shall carry any other person thereon.
179.(1) Duties of pedestrian when walking along highway
179. 179.(1) Where sidewalks are not provided on a highway, a pedestrian walking along the highway shall walk onthe left side thereof facing oncoming traffic and, when walking along the roadway, shall walk as close to the left edgethereof as possible.

179.(2) Subsection (1) does not apply to a pedestrian walking a bicycle in circumstances where crossing to the leftside of the highway would be unsafe. R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8, s. 179.
218.(1) Cyclist to identify self
218. 218.(1) A police officer who finds any person contravening this Act or any municipal by-law regulating trafficwhile in charge of a bicycle may require that person to stop and to provide identification of himself or herself.

218.(2) Every person who is required to stop, by a police officer acting under subsection (1), shall stop andidentify himself or herself to the police officer.
